adidas MLCA the Lax Mag Top 23 poll

SAVANNAH, Ga. -
The Savannah College of Art and Design men's lacrosse team is ranked 15th in this week's adidas Division II Top 23 Poll by MCLA the Lax Mag.

The Bees (1-0) opened their 2010 season Feb. 4 with a 13-7 victory over the University of North Florida in Jacksonville and moved up two positions from the preseason poll. The University of St. Thomas (Minn.) is ranked No. 1 in the poll.

SCAD will face two other teams listed in the poll this weekend when the Bees travel to Dayton, Ohio. SCAD will take on No. 12 Grove City College at 8 p.m. Friday (Feb. 12) before facing No. 2 University of Dayton Saturday (Feb. 13) at 2 p.m. Both matches will be played at Dayton.

Reed Publications Student-Artist-Athlete of the Week

Men's Swimming
SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah College of Art and Design men’s swimmer Alex Graudins has been named the Reed Publications SCAD Student-Artist-Athlete of the Week ending March 7.

Graudins, a freshman from Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, won two of the three individual national titles for the Bees last week at the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships in St. Peters, Mo.

Graudins claimed the first national title for the Bees as he won the 500-yard freestyle in a university-time of 4:27.44. He lowered his own record by nearly six seconds in the win. Graudins also broke his own university record as he won the 1,650 freestyle in a time of 15:42.28. He nearly had another win for the Bees as he came in second place in the 200 freestyle in a university-record time of 1:39.45.

As a team, the Bees finished in fifth place at the meet.
Reed Publications Intramural Athlete of the Week

Intramurals
SAVANNAH, Ga. - XinYu Shang  has been named this week's Reed Publications Intramural Athlete of the Week ending March 7.

Shang, who is the team captain for Team C.S.A. (Chinese Student Association), scored 34 points in the Intramural B Division Championship Tournament Feb. 28. 

 

C.S.A. narrowly defeated Free Agent Two in the semifinal game 47-42 before defeating the Ballers 49-39 for the championship title.
